John Spoor Broome Library offers a rich collection of digital and print resources for students and faculty to support student learning and enhance faculty teaching and research. In addition, the Library offers an array of services for faculty, ranging from library instruction sessions and personal research consultations to print and electronic course reserves, streaming media and interlibrary loan. Here is a sampling of our most popular services:

Library Instruction Sessions

Library instruction sessions are assignment-specific research instruction for your students crafted around your course’s specific learning outcomes and research assignment. These sessions are always fresh and never canned! You may request a library instruction session or contact Colleen Harris for assistance.

Course Reserves

Broome Library offers faculty three ways to provide content for your students: eReserves (Electronic Reserves), Print Reserves and Streaming Media. With eReserves, the Library is able to scan materials within copyright restrictions or create links to full-text journal articles available from the library’s subscription databases, allowing students 24/7 access to materials. Print Reserves holds textbooks and other materials provided by faculty for students to check out, typically for 2-4 hrs., providing access to all students in the course. The Library is also able to stream movies, documentaries and other recorded media that Broome Library owns via its streaming media service.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan provides access to materials (books, articles, DVDs, CDs, etc.) from other libraries to current faculty, staff, and students at no charge.
